Robert Parker Presents Wines for Grand Tasting at Winefuture Hong Kong

Robert Parker leads a Grand Tasting of “The Magical 20" revealing 20 wines to watch out for in the near future from 2009 Bordeaux Vintage

Here is the transcription:

This is a very famous estate, …well placed in the 1855 classification. This is a property that has made remarkable improvements over the last 20 years … Now it is one of my favorite wines when I taste in Bordeaux and I think Henri Lurton has done a magnificent job and he’s done many of the things I’ve talked about earlier, about selection, selection, selection. There’s been major investments in the vineyards , major investments in the wine cellar at Brane Cantenac. Now there’s that strict selection process,… only the very best is bottled. I think over the last decade that this is one of the most perfumed, and aromatically seductive wines that you can find in Bordeaux, and then of course, its charm , that’s what Brane Cantenac is famous for, its almost irresistible ability to be delicious in its youth yet age for a very long time. This wine is primarily made from cabernet  sauvignon with a good bit of merlot and cabernet franc.

…It is a wine that’s well represented on the export market.

Again, we really get a very, very fascinating aromatic bouquet here of ripe fruit, of forest floor, when you walk in a forest,...of underbrush, of under-vegetation in a forest, lots of black fruits that are ripe. Again pure!!!

I chose all these wines because I think they are great wines, they are the magical 20 of today.  I also think that purity is such an important component that we ‘re gonna see that.

We get this medium to full bodied wine, very velvety tannin, a really beautiful opulence that sort of builds very gradually. Very nice aftertaste.

I think this is beautifully balanced, a perfectly balance wine! Very complex, you start to see almost secondary aromas evolve, which is good!

Robert Parker发起一场“神奇的20款美酒”品鉴会，公布在不久的将来需关注的20款波尔多2009年份酒。

10月28日星期五，每年一次的128波尔多顶级年份品酒晚宴还是在港丽酒店举行。第二天，波尔多1997年份伊壁鸠鲁式美妙的品酒晚宴在Golden Peony餐厅举办。这两场活动精彩成功。期间，新的爱好者和老朋友互相交谈，一杯香槟、几杯美酒相伴！更不用说还有酒店餐厅大厨们精心制作的中国美食。

Robert Parker put Château Brane-Cantenac in the spotlight during the magnificent tasting that took place on November 8th in Hong Kong in the framework of “Wine Future Hong Kong” (http://www.winefuture.hk/index.php?opt=congreso) in the company of 19 other top wines.
